MF 1085 injector pump

My 1085 starts up, runs for a few seconds and then shuts down. Bleeding the injectors will get it going again and then it is OK until it sits for more than an hour or so.

There is fuel seeping from the throttle and fuel cutoff shafts on the top of the injector pump only when running.

I have seen posts in this list archives that discuss replacing seals in the top of the pump. Where can I get this seal kit and does it have instructions?

TIA

Some dealers have the gasket and O rings, but my experience has been it's best to reseal the complete pump. I've done top cover reseals only to have other leaks show up shortly after.

Most of the seal kits come with all the seals so you can do the whole pump. I have done a few of just the top cover seals without pulling the pump when the tractor is out in a field (seems like in the middle of baling hay most times). If you can rebuild an engine, and or do similar mechanical jobs, pulling, and resealing the pump isn't too hard. These pumps are pretty common so finding a seal kit isn't too hard (usually on the internet if you can wait), or a nearby diesel injector repair shop if you need it quick.
