Want to put the pto pump to the front end of engine(TO FREE
PTO) shaft but i see the hole in the front is blocked by steering
linkage. Do they make a linkage so that the front end isnt
blocked to put the pump on engine shaft. The hole is free until
you get to end of steering turning left.

I wonder if the steering assembly has been apart and reassembled wrong on the splined verticle shaft? Dealer I worked for had a few model 50s and 65s with the engine driven hydraulic pump for loaders and had no issues with steering clearance.

Hi rkh, In the last yrs of the 65 and beyond,MF
had a "kit" that you could buy to change all that
over. Linkage, etc would switch over so the hole
would be accessible left to right. Have sold all
my bulletins, books etc. I do doubt that they are
still available tho. Maybe you could find a parts
tractor. Chuck

We had that problem on a 1960 65. We learned that the later models had shorter arms on top of the spindles so the arm in the center doesn't have to move as far to turn left.

Not all pumps are reversible. Some are, some are not. You'd have to check the with the manufacturer on a specific model to know for sure.

The steering modification for front mounted pumps is on pgs 374-375 of the 65 parts manual. From what I can see, it shows the parts to be the same as used on tractor serial #'s 671680 (gas), 667918 (diesel), to 692932.

186065M91 tube, RH 19 1/8" long
186066M91 rod assm, tie, right 16 5/32" long
186077M92 end assm, (center) 6 1/2" long
180061M91 tube, LH, 14 7/8" long
180063M91 rod assm, tie, left, 14 7/8" long

Hope that helps.
