303 / 404 WORK BULL

hi, what can anyone tell me about a 303 or 404 work bull back hoe? Did these all have a converter drive? Any good? Should i runaway from this? I know the 208 parts are all but gone but the277 parts can still be found. 303 seems to have been more popular. I am just looking for a recreational backhoe not to make money with.

If it has a foot throttle and forward and reverse pedals it's torque convertor drive. A dry type foot clutch is shown in the parts list too. Look at the controls to see what it has.

For personal use I'd prefer the manual clutch (one pedal on the left side) as it should use most of the same transmission parts as a agricultural tractor of the same size. It should be easier to find parts for, and easier to work on.
