Fluid in/out of rears

Is there a way to clean the calcium residue off the rims after I drain the fluid out. The rims are salvageable if caught soon. Thanks

Not really, remove tires, wash with soap and water, then sandblast to white metal, prime with two part self etching epoxy primer and use good paint.

All that's ever been done on ours was scrub them down with hot soapy water before remounting the tire. No issues and all have their original rims.

I have pictures on photobucket of the rings of our Oliver 1755. It was dead and one side sprung a leak. I jacked it up to save the tire to be able to be mounted on another tractor later on. When the tire was removed several years later, the only rusty was at the top of the fluid line on the rim. No air, no rust. As long as the whole rim is submerged in the fluid, the rim will be fine.
