frost on the exhaust manifold

I just got a Massey Harris 44 gas tractor and when I start it frost forms on the exhaust manifold for about 4 inches - up - from where it mounts to the carb. Is something wrong or is this normal? I'm from West Michigan and the outside temp is around 30-40 degrees.

Not an expert, but I think high-velocity fast-moving air tends to drop temperature, and the cold causes condensation then freezing if it's cold enough and the outside air's moist enough. [Wet your finger, then blow on it, you ought to see.] I believe it's perfectly normal, part of physics.

The evaporation of the fuel provides additional cooling that takes it below freezing, my MH44 EFI will have sweat on the manifold, but no more ice.

perfectly normal as this is the venture effect. as the mixture is pasted through the carb venture the flow speeds up causing this.
