MF 50 serial# ID

I have what I believe to be a couple of Massey
Ferguson 50 in here for salvage. Hard to read the
ser# tags. One is a utility and looks like ser#
starts with SGW. Other is a row crop and looks
like ser# starts GCM. Do these letters mean
anything? I have a parts book but absolutely no
mention about that. MF parts books are about the
most user unfriendly things I have ever seen.

Your parts book must be missing the first few pages, the prefix letters, fuel type and clutch etc. are all explained in the front of the book.
