while attempting to restore this tractor I noticed the tractor was missing the actuating spring which connects to the Draft control bell crank. the question is: where does the top of the spring connect to? I see nothing to hook it to. am I missing a piece of hardware to connect it to? perhaps where the font cover joins to the rear cover? my I & T shop service manual only shows where the bottom of the spring connects. thanks in advance for the solution to this puzzle.

Mine has a pin pressed into the diff case, yours may be broken off. Spring just keeps the lever against the draft frame, a home made strap could be used too.
