Massey Harris 444 steering

On Friday afternoon done for the day and heading for the shed with the 444 and lost the steering, checked and the shaft was turning into the gear box, pulled apart on Saturday and the shaft broke off in the box right at the worm gear. I have never heard or seen that happen before, looks all crystal and just a spot holding for who knows how long. I have a lot of 44 parts around but no 444 parts and the front ends are different and so is this shaft. Part # is 1007805M91, any one have one laying around?? Going to have to find a machine shop.

The shafts were the same on our 444 and 44's. You might just replace the whole front end from a 44. It's not that hard as we would swap the wide front and narrow front all the time.
