MF 1155.....question for dieseltech

MF rules

I'm in process of setting up my 1155 with cab that I farm with. I'm installing a M&W turbo kit and have to get my fuel injection pump rebuilt. My questions......

1. Is it possibly to crank this up to 200hp?
2. Does a guy have to advance/retard the timing when adding a turbo?.....local mechanics say to leave timing at factory settings??? What's your thoughts????

I plan on having the diesel shop set the pump at 200 hp and then taking it to my MF dealer and dynoing it to set it exact. I'm gonna add a pyrometer on the tractor also.
I don't intend on pulling it hard a lot......hardest pulls will be in spring w a 15 knive 28% toolbar and in fall pulling a 25ft disk. Maybe 200 hrs a year use.

M&W turbo won't get the boost you need for 200 HP, at least the on I had on my 1150 didn't. I replaced it with a Rotomaster/AirResearch clone to get the boost up to about 15 PSI. Brother has the tractor now, have it set at 175. 1150 stock timing is 30 BTDC, 1155 stock is 28 BTDC. Mine did best at 26 BTDC, and started better too. Make sure all injectors have all four holes open, or power will go down and smoke will go up. You might get 200, but watch the water temp. I drained the antifreeze in spring and ran water only to keep it cooler for heavy work. It would run about 10 to 15 degrees cooler, just had to remember to put it back in the fall.

Thanks for the info......I forgot to add that about a year ago I had the injectors redone and had the diesel shop install 2805 injector tips.
I'm stuck with the rayjay turbo for now since I just bought a new one off craigslist......out of curiousity what model number airsearch turbo did you go with? Did it mount on the original M&W y pipe turbo flange without modification? Might have to go that route down the road!?
Thanks

The turbo I used originally was a Rotomaster for the Olds 5.7 in the C 10 Chevy truck. That's before most found out the blocks/cranks liked to break. That was the first use of three engines the turbo has been on. The next was a 455LP Olds in the same truck, man that was fun flooring it when someone thought it was still diesel. The turbo is now on the 1150 with a P .96 exhaust housing same as I used on the 455. It originally came with a P.58 housing to speed it up for the smaller engine. The P.58 is now on the S90 puller with the compressor side from an IH 1066 parts turbo. I"ll look tomorrow, I have one from a 7060 AC I want to use on the puller next year, think it would be like what you would need, I know it has the four bolt exhaust outlet for your elbow and bolts on like the Thompson/Rayjay did.

If memory serves me correct, a fellow I know that pulls a massey v8 told me that columbus diesel told him that not to interchange injector tip between 510-540 and the 640 because of different spray patterns for the heads are different.
