Tire sizes?

It is time to replace a tire(13.6x38) on my 65 hi-clr. I've found used one at local bone yard; asking $350. How can I tell if it's worth it?

That is half price of a new one. I think most tires rot out before they wear out. I would not pay more than 100-200 for a used tire that size.

I just had a pair delivered today. Brand new take offs. 850 for the pair with tubes and freight. I'm not sure what I'm going with my old ones. Great tread bad weather checking.

look at the inside make sure it hasn't been run low(has the cords hanging out on the inside of the tire), make sure there is no damage at the bead. If there are any leave it there. Put a rag around your hand or put on a glove and run your hand over every inch of the inside of the tire make sure there are no thorns sticking thru. If there any boots or repairs anywhere I would walk away.

Sounds like quite a lot for a used tire unless it is in exceptional condition. I know prices on new tires have gone through the roof. If you keep your tractor under cover it will save a lot of weather cracking. I've been running an old MF with weather cracking for over 15 years with no problems but it is kept under cover and out of the sun when not in use. Don't seem to be getting any worse.

I've had one that size for sell now on CL for 150 with cracking an only one bite. Found a set with rims at a salvage yard for 250. There are deals to be found.

I found a used pair of rear tires for my brothers 150 where you could still read the tire size that was on the cleats, and very minor cracking for $600 for the pair.
