o-ring question for lift cyl piston

I have a new lift cylinder and piston for my tractor. Anyway it has 1 o-ring and 1 flat wiper seal. I am curious as to how a fella would get that flat wiper seal on the piston? It is pretty stiff and wont go over the edge of the piston to seat in the grove. I`m pretty sure this is the wiper seal.

Hi, I prepared a description on this after I did my
MF 135 piston seal repair. See attached. You need to put the rubber o-ring in the grove first, and then heat up the sealing ring in boiling water for about 30 seconds and slip it over the piston on top of the rubber o-ring.

Curiously, I was posing this question to myself on Saturday, when a client asked me to diagnose his absence of 3-point linkage lifting ability on his compact tractor of questionable Far-Eastern origin.
Withdrew the piston and observed a well-worn seal ring; but I was deuced if I would believe heating it in hot water would render such a hard nylon sufficiently pliable to stretch over the piston without deforming beyond use...except it seemed to be the only logical route.
I telephone-spoke to a friend of his who is in the know about the marque and he re-assured me it did what I now know robilmichael knew all along.
