231 fuel problem

Well guys I finally got back to work on the 231. Started at the
tank and started tracing fuel. Fuel flowed out of tank line fine
into the lift pump but would not come out of the pump when
I pumped it manually. Bout the new pump for $33.00 and 15
minutes later tractor was running like a champ. Worked it for
an hour and a half to make sure. Life is good again!

Terry,

Thanks for the update. I was tempted several times to reach out and see if you diagnosed the problem. Being a 231 owner I'm sure I will run into this sooner or later.

My 231 gave me fits a few years back.
It would quit when working it hard now and then. Wait a minute or two and it would start and run ok. I guy on here told me to check the plastic fuel-cock on the bottom of the fuel tank. It was full of crude. Problem solved.
I clean it every few years

The only negative thing I can think of is its hard to get on and off of it. Other then that I love this thing.
