Can anyone give me the napa cross reference number for the thermostat, also I just repainted and put all the panels back on but I think the therm is stuck in open position because my temp guage wont move (new gauge), what do I have to take off to access the therm housing ..the housing looks like its on the front top left of engine

Got a 65 but don't know about the thermostat but if
your gauge came from ebay then its like mine,I get
180 with hand held infared and nothing with gauge.

I got my gauge off of ebay but its always reading cold and after running the 65 for a couple hours the engine still feels cold, I know the therm for the 65 diesel is a 170 degree stat but I don't know exactly where it goes and do I have to take the side panel and steering linkage off to get to the therm housing..I believe there is no therm in it or its stuck open, I have to idea what the previous owner did to it

Thermostat is under the cast neck that attaches to
the top radiator hose. Fuel tank also attaches here.
AAt minimum the tank might be able to be loosened
and propped up but I don't think so. I would check
my temp gauge first as well. My 65s don't run very
hot.

Thanks for the info, it looks like its to much of a pain in the butt to get to so I guess it will just run cold

I think mine was 1.75" diameter, NAPA p/n 348-180. Cost
about 16 bucks. I've only got a couple hours on the tractor
since changing it but it seems to work just fine. BTW, the
operating temp of the thermostat is 180 degrees.
You will definetely need to take out the front fuel tank bolts and
loosen the rear two and then prop the tank up. Hope this
helps.
