I am working on an MF135 (1974 production) and need a little help relating to the PTO. I went in to diagnose an inactive lift. In the case I found about 14 .48" roller balls that probably came from a previous PTO output bearing. One of these had found its way imder the Hydraulic pump and had damaged the mechanism extends below the pump. I am replacing the pump but here is my question: This tractor has a ground speed PTO and a Motor speed(clutched) selection. The spiral lock ring was loose on the drive shaft and partially damaged and the ground speed gear had slipped back onto the drive shaft and was slinging around on the shaft. I can reinstall the gear over the inner gear attached to the drive shaft but I cannot see what would hold it in place. The spiral ring would hold the inner gear in place but I find nothing to keep the large gear from slipping off again. I don't find enough detail in the service manual to help. Can someone who has been in the same place a few times shed some light?
