TO30 Twisted PTO?

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question.

I have a 54 Massey Ferguson TO30. Last year I replaced the stock PTO with a 1 3/8" PTO. Took all of 5 minutes. Now I have damaged my new PTO. I pulled the tractor apart and sure enough the PTO is twisted coming out of the pump. I have read and heard everyone talk about cutting the PTO shaft to get it out. My questions is how do I cut it.
 
Sorry to hear of your troubles, but my question?

What were you hooked too that bent a pto shaft?

Did you have a slip clutch that was not set properly to slip.

or a sheer pin bolt that was too hard.

Just asking, sure do not want to bend the pto shaft
on my little to 35.

I hate to admit this. When I switched to the 1 3/8" PTO my clutch was for a 1 1/8". I bought a new clutch and it would not slip on. I was in a hurry to mow so I beat it on with a Big Hammer. Really Big Hammer. I had no idea it would twist the PTO the way it did. Lesson learned.
 
That does not make sense.

There is no way that you could drive a 1 3/8" shaft into an ID spline for a 1 1/8" shaft???

The "overun" clutch was driven onto the tractor PTO shaft? That type of clutch does not prevent a twisted internal shaft, it keeps the tractor from from being pushed by the bush hog(acting as a fly wheel).

Getting back to the question at hand. Can you see where the shaft is twisted inside the tractor? I believe that if it is twisted between the pump and the rearend it can be pulled out but if twisted between the pump and the transmissiion housing it will need to be cut between the pump and rearend and then the pump removed to get out the remaining forward piece.
