Baler not tieing off every bail, need help

I have a MF 69 square balier, it will tie off good every 2-3 bales and then it will tie but the tie will not hold for the next 2-3 bales for some reason, it will pull the knot out after it has tied the bale, the knot will not hold for some reason, does anyone know what would cause this?
 
Hi,
Check your twine tension at the tensioner on the twine box. The knot may be formed OK but it may be too loose when it comes off the bill hook and is pulling apart before it can tighten.

sorry all, yes it's a NH 68 baler, and one side will tie every time without missing a hit, the other side will tie sometimes and sometimes it wont.
 
The book says that to much bale tension, but this problem probably has been getting worse for you over time, check the twine disc position on that one not working right-probably going late. NH has an exellant video on U-Tube...Google is your friend. Frustrating isn't it...but its a great feeling after you get it working. Rotate the tie cycle though by hand very slowly and compare each knotter. Stay with it, and let us know what it was.
 
When you look at the knots that tie, are the tails the same length, or is one side considerably shorter than the other? What you want is about equal lengths.
To set this, what you want to do is adjust the self-locking nuts on the right side of each knotter that adjust the spring tension on the doohickey that rides at the base of the billhook. This adjusts how far the jaws of the billhook open, and prevents the twine from sliding once the billhook grips it. The tighter the bale, the tighter this adjustment must be. As I said, you'll know you've got it right when the cut ends of the knot are the same length. Whats happening now is that athe bale expands as it goes through the chute, the knot is pulling out.
