Injector pump on a 354 in a 550 combine.

My pump needs resealed. Drips from the shut off and the throttle levers... Fire hazard with all the chaff that accumulates on the front of the engine in the fuel. Have a week or two break in corn.

Anyway, I'd rather do this at the bench, even though it looks like It could be done in place. Is the pump drive on a spline? Pull the lines, cables, and the 3 flange bolts and it slides up? Is there a master spline so that it only goes back on in one place?

The pump has a master spline, and a scribe line on the flange ear that should line up with an engine mark. While the top cover can be resealed only it's best to reseal the complete pump as I've seen too many times other leaks show up shortly after the patch job is done. Just did a 1135 pump for the same trouble.

Thanks

On a slightly related subject, is there a chart somewhere that shows which holes the springs go into on a DPA based on pump number?? Have a 1950s DPA on a David Brown that the previous owner "Rebuilt" himself. Leaks fuel every where and the governor doesn't react like it should. I am suspicious a spring was reinstalled wrong.

Some spring codes are on the nametag, and some are on the spec test plan only. List the pump model # and I can check what it should be. I just mailed back an MF 1135 pump for leak problems too, the owner's patch job didn't last.
