I am trying to get a head start on fixing my mf 175 hyd lift. Is there any pointers for pulling off this lift cover, I already have everything off down to the cover with the bolts loose. I dont want to break anything ya know. I am waiting on my manual so I am looking for pointers.

Drain the oil out first. On the right side case where the draft response lever is you need to remove that cover, and take a roller out (you will see it's about 1" wide with a couple of little grooves in it, and about 5/16" in diameter). Get a thin piece of wire, and wrap it around the roller so you can hold on to it, carefully spread the lever that it's in open to remove it. On the top cover (right front) there is small cover with 2 bolts holding it down, you will need to remove that cover, there is also a stand pipe that goes into it, it may come out with the cover, or you may have to remove it. Before you remove the lift cover raise the lift arms all the way up (you can raise them by hand), and mark the lift arms, and top cover with a center punch, or chisel so you can line them back up. Since you will probably be using a lift of some sort to remove the top cover take your time, and be careful (a extra set of hands can helpful).

Hi, I a few months ago I posted some pics and an
explanation of taking off the lift cover and
replacing the hydraulic piston ring and seal on my
MF135. Type in the search "MF 135 Hydraulic piston
repair" and it should come up. I think, but do not
know, that the MF175 should be similar to the MF135
repair.

The 175 is pretty much the same as the 135 as far as the lift cover goes.

When removing this cover, do you have to take the response handle off the shaft or will it all pull out together? I've taken all the bolts out on mine and the cover is loose but will not come off and I don't want to pry too much. Thanks
