Tachometer on a MF 20 Industrial

Hi, recently purchased this tractor/backhoe and the Tachometer does not work. The main reason, that I know of so far, is that there is no cable. New to tractors so not sure just where the other end of the tachometer cable goes. I didn't see anything near the distributor and haven't checked the alternator as I've heard that sometimes the tachometer runs off the alternator. Any help is greatly appreciated. It has the 3.152 Perkins engine, they run the tachometer off the back of the camshaft (look on the back side of the block just below the head, and above the starter). The cable you need is AGCO part number 508231M91
Cable Assembly.
