Converted a MH 30 to 12volt. It starts good and charges good, but in a couple of days, it draws the battery down. Both wires going back to the alternator are hot to touch. Where should one start looking. I wired a least a dozen of these systems with no problem!

Easiest way to find problem is with everything off disconnect + side of battery and check for an arc when you touch it back, then start breaking connections till it goes away. Gas or diesel??

you need a diode or idiot light in the circuit so you don't have batt. voltage to the alt. when engine is shut down. that's why batt. going dead and wires hot.
