Still working on rebuilding the ole 101, and on disassembly of the oil filter I found a Hastings 301 canister installed and completely clogged. Checked and found a replacement, and went to install.
The Hastings has a 'washer' and paper seal on the bottom, but the replacement has pre-installed neoprene oil-tube seals on the filter.
Should I remove the neoprene lower seal and use the washer set-up, or leave it and not use the washer set-up?
