MF1130 remote hydraulic pressure issues

Hello, I need some advice from some old school massey guys.

I have a MF1130 that I'm pulling a 9 shank disk chisel plow with. When everything is "cool" the chisel plow comes right up all the way, maybe somewhat slow, but no issues otherwise. As you run it and get all the oil warmed up ( 45 minutes or so) the plow will slowly get harder to lift out of the ground. An hour and a half in, teeth will barely come out of the ground.

Supposedly the front pump was rebuilt before I bought tractor, but who knows what was done. I have tried a few things so far:

Replaced front hyd oil filter, no change ( LOTS of recent rear end bearing work, entire housing was cleaned very thoroughly). No change with new filter. Thought the hyd. Quick coupler wasnt letting oil by, since the plow had new tips and tractor didnt. Newfemale ends on the tractor made no difference. I don"t believe that the priority valve is failing, since if I have the plow lifting, and turn the steering wheel, it will steer and "rob" the oil from the remotes until I stop steering- I believe that is how it should work.

Finally got my gauge on the lines- at the remotes when cold I have 2250psi, and at the test port for the high flow side of the charge pump I have 185psi cold. Once hot the.remote pressure goes to 1200 psi, test port for charge pump only140psi.

At this point im not sure which pump.to tear into- the front radial pump? Or the charge pump? Could this issue be a relief valve maybe?

If anyone has worked on a similar issue please let me know.

Thanks

Hi
That system is probably pretty similar in design to an 1135. I believe the 1135 has some updates though.

I would advise getting a good copy of a MF service manual for it. i tested an 1135, using an I&T book, After testing a Deere with similar and not getting far. I got a genuine Deere book. half the info was missing from I&T, from what deere says in theirs, testing went a lot better after. I would guess the massey book will be more accurate also.

There is a hole procedure that has to be followed starting at point 1 and ending way higher, to get accurate diagnoses. You will also need a flow gauge if you don't have one.
The tractor I did had filings through everything, valves and pumps were all damaged, if you find a problem you fix that before you can move on. 1 problem can mimic the symptom of something else. Charge pump low can fool you into front pump, and all wonderful things like that.
it's not a 10 minute test and diagnosis this one I did took a fair while.
Regards Robert

That sure is a purdy tractor, I like the looks of the narrow front under it. The 1105 we have was doing the same thing and it was the charge pump under the floor that needed new.
