Massey 1085 PTO questions

I got a neighbor who just bought a 1085 at an auction,so
there isn't much for previous history on the tractor.Where
these available with 1000 RPM pto? There is a plate with
some bolts that attach it to the trans housing with a 540
shaft.Does this plate come off & a 1000 shaft/plate bolt up to
this? If so,there is no such thing with the tractorWe had
smaller Masseys around the farm before,165,180&285 but all
they had were 540 pto.TIA.

The kit number 677590 is required to convert the 540 RPM to 1000 RPM PTO.
• NOTE • The kit subs to individual part numbers. Nothing inside of the tractor needs to be done. All of the parts are already installed internally. All of the parts used in the kit to convert to the 1000 RPM PTO are install at the rear of the tractor on the outside.

The 1085 and 285 (and I think the 1080) all use the same PTO setup. I was lucky enough last year or the year before to find the complete setup for $25. Like has been said, it's a complete bolt on swap. I bought it for our 285, to run a roller sprayer pump and our chopper should the need arise. So far I've used it on both, so $25 well spent in my eyes.
