The power steering on my 444 has never worked since I bought this tractor. I am now restoring this tractor and have it dismantled. So I can actually get at the PS unit now that the engine and radiator are removed. I would like to check to see if my problem is in the PS unit itself. If it checks good I will know it was the splitter (proportioning valve).
The Hyd pump was putting out good pressure for the three point and remote hydraulics, so I do not believe my problem is there.
I would think I could rig up hydraulic pressure to the unit and test it. Does anyone know what pressures were used?
