Is it worth it?

I came across a 1963-64 MF30. Perkins diesel cranks but won't start, needs tires ,sheet metal's ok. Is $800 a decent price considering I don't know much else?

I would say that is about all it's worth. (Texas) It may be worth more in your area. You can invest a ton in it. Just what you think you can stand and if it'd what you want.

I'd buy it, and fix it for my own use. If it costs too much for you to fix you probably could get more for it if you parted it out. If you try to fix it just to sell it you would probably loose money doing it.

I think it is worth the 8 bills, a live pto arsend is worth nearly that in my mind, and a Perkins is worth a try to rebuild, if beyond hope , the engine parts might get you your money back, and keep the rest. A lot like real estate, a lot depends on location...

Yes I would fix it up for myself, just didn't want a money pit. I haven't heard it turn over ,is there any "noticeable" things ,sounds I could listen out for? I understand it's hard to diagnose over a computer was just wondering. Thanks

If you can do the work yourself you can save a lot of money and then you know what has been done. My main concern now is tires and rims. They can run into a lot of bucks.I like to buy old neglected tractors ans fix them up. Trouble is I hate to part with them afterward.
