massey 65 gas/diesel

Hi,
I am looking at a 58 gas MF65. It has thrown rod.
What kind of problems would I run into by remove and replace with a diesel engine from a MF65.
A diesel should bolt up, I guess my concern would be the clutch.
A diesel also runs a alternator I suppose maybe different regulator also.
Anyone here have any info on this or done it?
Thanks

I own both gas and diesel. The clutch is the same. Battery box is different. Fuel tanks are different. The starters are on opposite sides I'm not sure if they're the same. Power steering pumps I believe are different. You almost need the whole donor tractor to do it right.

HI,
Thanks for the input.
After reading post and further review, would need a donor tractor or a bigger wallet to buy parts needed.
I have looked at some scrap yards. Does anyone here know of a good place to look for a short block or engine for a MF 65...g176.
Thanks

There's been one on craigslist around Iowa recently (maybe Missouri or Minnesota, not 100% sure) but the ad says g176 so you can search by that.
