tempted to get a refurbished 60 hp gas mf85.
it has apparently portal axles. so it is very high on wheels and has a high center of gravity.....
question: how "tipsy" is this machine?
looks like a rollover bar is almost a must, no?
thats my only hesitation...i need it to haul the manure spreader

I wouldn't think it would be tippy. By portals I assume you mean dropped final drives so it probably has 30" rubber? I don't think it would make it much taller than my 65 on 38".

They are tipsy with the back wheels set narrow, especially with a narrow front end. Set the rear wheels wide as you can will help a lot. The standard planetary rear was more like the other MF tractors. The 85D I use for tractor drives is a standard, while the S90 puller is the high arch model that is very tipsy with 18.4x38 tires set 80 inches overall width.
