58 MF 50 gas

I say, do not use the additive.

The local co-op offered gas with the additive years ago, I bought some, used it in my TO 35 tractor.

The motor had been rebuilt years ago,

The gas additive seize up the valve train in my motor, had to have the head rebuilt.

I would not use that additive in your motor, why do you think you need it?

If the motor is running good, then let sleeping dogs alone.

HI,
Thanks for the answer.
Max,
One of the things leaded gas did was lubricate the valve train. Leaded gas helped lubricate the valve seats and help stop premature wear and erosion on non hardened seats. This was my concern.
Thanks again.

Tim,

All I know is my experience.

The mechanic said, most of these old tractors, when he places the head on his workbench, they are so worn and loose, parts fall off.

Not yours, he had to drive the parts apart. Every thing was stuck,

He said to drain that gas with lead additive out of the tank, I did not need it.

All I know was what happen to me.

Old tractor ran great when head was fixed.

Now I always use non ethanol gas in all my small engines, you can still buy non ethanol gas in my area of west KY.
