Pony Pivot Pin

I've got to replace my worn pivot pin. It's been so abused it no longer even has its head. The last owner just put a cotter pin at both ends. So, my simple question, does the head go in from the front of the tractor, so the cotter pin is in the back, or vice versa? I was lucky enough to find a used pin in good condition. Any tips on doing the install? Thanks. thatidiotictractor.com

According to AGCO's parts book the pivot pin with the cotter pin on both ends is a service replacement for the pivot pin with the head on one end, and one cotter pin on the other.

That's interesting, but mine still needs to be replaced due to wear. Since replacements have a cotter at either end, it sounds like a pin with a head could be inserted either way. Would still like to know how the pin was headed as it came from the factory.

I would think the head would be towards the front, the replacement pin with the two cotter pins also shows it to use one washer (but it doesn't show which end it goes on).
