MF165 Hydraulic PTO quit working

I was bushhogging this afternoon, backed over a small (1") locust sapling and the PTO quit...the lift still works, but the hydraulic PTO doesn't.
The grade 2 sheer pin did not snap, it's still intact.

Any suggestions...we've had about 7" of rain in the last week and a half and I've got lots of mowing to do!!

Thanks

I said hydraulic PTO which I guess would be an IPTO. As in the post you forwarded, my PTO shaft turns when the engine is running, it just has no power and it won't shut off...it turns no matter what position the PTO lever is in.

Also, this tractor has Multi-power, and it is in "low" even though the Multi-Power lever on the dash is in the "high" position. Could this be part of the same problem?...the multi-power was working fine until the PTO quit.

I do not have an external overrunning clutch on
my PTO.

Thanks for the picture.

Sounds like you lost IPTO/Muti-pwr pump pressure. There are two pumps in there. One for the 3-point and the other that your having trouble with.

I can't help with muti-pwr other than check the pump pressure at test port. It's on the cover next to the IPTO lever.

I don't believe the problem started with hitting/cutting a one inch tree. Snit just happens sometimes.

With all that rain you may have some water in the oil of the trans and differential. What shape are your shift lever rubbers in? If they are crack or not sealing the gear shift levers properly, you could have a lot of water in the oil. Is the oil milky white on the dip stick? If so, start by changing the oil. it takes about 8 gallons. Did you hear a big bang about the time it quit? If so, you have the same problem that I had. The pressure relief got stuck and blow out the clutch pack on the IPTO and mutli-power, not a cheap fix. I had to split the tractor behind the trans and remove the trans to fix both problem. But first I would check the pressure on the aux pump that controls both systems. There is a pressure port where the lines come put from the bell housing up to the front grill area. The pressure is suppose to be around 200lbs. If I can help some more let me know. Lee
