I just bought a 1963 MF35 with a Perkins for a project (my first tractor). She had caught fire mostly minor Melted the lift pump and supply and return lines. I have replace the lift pump but the two fuel lines have three different types of ends compression, flare and inverted flare? Anyone know the correct type? all else fails I was going a compression sleeve, it looks like the best fit so far. Thanks in advance

Hi,
If you are replacing the supply and return pipes to the pump ordinary brass olives will be quite satisfactory. It will be necessary to close the olives onto the pipe first. Some MF fittings have a rubber bush into which the pipe fits and the pipe nut then compresses the rubber bush to form a seal.
You can use steel pipe which is a little difficult to bend or kunifer (copper type) pipe which is very flexible. Brass olives can be used with this type. Make absolutely sure that you have 1/4" od pipe and NOT 6mm pipe. 6mm pipe is often sold as 1/4" there is enough of a difference in diameter to produce a leak and you will be unlikely to close a 1/4" olive on it.
