Parts for a 1080

Hi guys,
Was cutting hay with a NH 488 haybine on the 1080 and had a sudden loss of power...couldn't pull it up a small hill with the PTO engaged, brought it down to the barnyard and called a local mechanic.
Rocker arm had broke last year and had it repaired but hadnt sounded right since shortly after being repaired...slowly developed from an odd, inconsistent idle to a mild knock.
Local mechanic and son came out, pulled valve cover, one of the nuts holding valve had worked itself very loose, tightened that and did a valve adjustment, seems to run real nice...we'll see after this rain finishes and we cut some more hay.
Only charged me $120 for the service...not too bad....I think.

Anyway,
looking for
#1. Air cleaner filter - dealer part # and local parts shop both had air filters that did not match the one I removed.
The one I removed was around 4.25" in diameter and 14.5" long.. Any experience looking for this filter? Do any NAPA filters cross?
#2. Valve cover gasket? Havent been able to locate this either, the gasket was old and not in great tshape, mechanic used some silicone but recommended I find a new gasket to replace...I have not had luck...if anyone knows where to find this, please help.

There are two different filter assemblies for the 1080. What is the serial number on your 1080?
The filter you have seems to be a bit small in diameter? Is it possible you have just the inner filter in your tractor? The one filter assembly has both an inner and outer filter. Maybe someone removed your outer one, and ran with just the inner one?
As for the valve cover gasket...I may be able to find one, I will check.

I will go out and re-measure the filter...the one that the local parts store looked up and had was too small...will check ser. # too...I believe we have an early 1080

The dimensions of the air filter are 4 and 5/8" by 14".

Serial number indicates it a 1970 year model. The 1080 was built from 1967 - 1972

Early production used filter part #1035408M92 (no inner).
Late production used filter part #1039044M91 (outer)
part #1039045M91 (inner)

Valve cover gasket part # 732201M1 (AGCO)
part # 0490770 (Perkins)

Looks like I may have the gasket you are looking for. Can I have your address to figure out a shipping cost for you?
As for the filter....ptfarmer has the correct part numbers. Judging by your serial number you should have the early model, that should take the 1035408m92 filter, especially since you don't have the inner filter? Do you happen to have the part number of the one your dealer got for you?
