Hi,
Not sure to continue old post or start new, anyway.
The schematic shows the armature on the generator going to ground, field going to field. Is this correct?
This is for a gas 58 massey ag tractor.
My prior post, yes they gave me the wrong regulator and I think they gave me another wrong regulator.
The regulator I have now is for 6 volt positive ground A circuit. I told the gentleman when he showed me the regulator it looked like a ford regulator.
The way I read the regulator suppose to be is B Bat, L lights, F field.
The generator would be f field to regulator, A armature to ground, grounding to regulator and frame.

Thanks any help appreciated

Armature on generator does NOT go to ground

Armature terminal on regulator to armature on generator. This may be on opposite side of other terminal or on underneath side of regulator

Field terminal on regulator to field terminal on generator

BAT terminal on regulator is charge wire to battery. It may go through ammeter and usually connects to large battery cable connection at the starter solenoid/switch

L or load terminal supplies power to light and ignition switches.

That's a bummer that they can't get the correct regulator.

Thanks for the help, as it turns out their inventory of that specific regulator was either wrong label or packaged wrong at the factory. They are going to a different vendor and will have one mailed to me so I don't have to make another trip.
Thanks again
Tim O
