I have a 1966 mf135 with a z145 engine..got a spin on oil/filter kit...but it is a bypass filter...am I better off just leaving the canister filter on? Thanks, Keith

Even though it is a by-pass filter system switch it over to the spin-on. It makes changing it a whole lot easier.

I have a z134 in my 2135 (same engine, same oiling system as the z145), and I am changing the oiling system so that it is a full flow system while still using the Continental z engine oil pump with a few modifications. If it works out good I'm going to post on how I did it (it's still a work in progress). I had to rebuild mine because the crankshaft was broke in half because it wasn't re-ground properly.
