Have a mh22 use every once and a while for pulling. Switched out point system for electronic ignition wondering if anyone knows how to time the engine. Flywheel does have timing marks.

Any info would help
Thanks eric

For the younger generation timing by ear may not be as easy as it is for us that have done it by ear. I thing he is looking for a starting point. Has anyone timed a Massey 22 by ear and then checked the timing with a timing light for future reference? I would think someone would have an answer.

I have done that with my 44.

I run it at max throttle, advance till it sounds a little off, retard back through the smoothest until if sounds a little off. I then idle it and retard a little if it is rough.
