Wanting a carburetor for a 55 is a 44 throat smaller size wanting to pull the old 55 and want to make the proper power

To the best of my knowledge, all 44s and 55s used the same size carb (1 5/16" butterfly). A small upgrade would be the model 62 which has a 1 7/16" butterfly and larger venturi options. It is identical to the original on the outside. Zenith also made one with a 1 9/16" bore. I don't know the model number but "Bendix by Zenith" is cast into the float bowl. This is probably your best bet but it has an accelerator pump that should be removed for use on a tractor. I have installed them on a 55 and a 44 with good results. Treadwell Carb in N.Y. will be able to help you.
