Hey folks, back again with an update and question.
Got the engine pulled out of the tractor, disassembled, and have begun some cleaning. While investigating the low oil pressure / #1 rod bearing spinning and trashing the crank, I took the oil pump cover off to check the gears. It had quite a bit of thrust play in the shaft prior to taking the cover off. Hopefully the picture will upload and you can see what I discovered.
I don"t think the cover is useable anymore. Anyone know where I can find a rebuilt, or rebuilable pump? It"s the Continental Z134 gas engine.
Thanks for your help,

If it's not worn too much you can probably have it surface ground, if it is worn too much a new one could be made. I had to drill the bolt heads out on my oil pump to get the plate off, and where the drill bit hit the plate it drilled easy. I think that plate is not made from any special hard alloy steel, and you can get the re-build kit

Yeah looks like that one is pretty much shot looking at the cover plate wear. I wonder if it could be machined back flat but if the shaft is loose then ebay will have one sooner or later.

Yeah 2tractors, I was wondering the same thing about the machining, or maybe filling in the grooves with that same stuff that they use to repair exhaust manifolds, like liquid steel, and re-machining just that one area???

The only place I could easily find a re-man oil pump is on thebay site. The 1965 MF 2135 with the Z134 I recently bought not running had a knock in it when I got it running, and no oil pressure also. This is what I found in mine after I took it apart.
