MF40A hydraulic oil

Hi all,
I have a MF40A industrial loader/backhoe. It has always run
ATF in the hydraulics but I would like to change this to the
same oil I use in my other tractors rear ends that also supply
the hydraulic systems on these tractors , namely 15W40
engine oil suitable for hydraulics as well. The operators
manual lists ATF oil type A, M-1110 or equivalent. I have a
couple of implements that I would like to use on the MF40 as
well but the different oil is stopping me. Thanks for any input

Never heard of an MF40A, just MF40 and 40B. MF50A was common though. Are you talking hyd's for the loader and hoe or the trans. and diff.? For the loader hyd's any type of hyd. oil should work. For the rear end use MF Perma-Tran. I think the latest is 821XL or something like that. M-1110 is an older MF spec. that was upgraded to Perma-Tran. Don't use 15-40 in the rear end. Do you have manual shuttle or instant reverse trans.? In instant reverse don't mix and match oils.

I use TDH fluid from Walmart in my Cat. It says it also makes a good hyd. fluid. I haven't had any problems using it. Some of the newer systems like my skid steer call for 10W-30 gas engine oil, not diesel oil but an older machine like an MF40, I think I'd use hyd. oil. ATF is basically high grade 10 weight hyd. oil. Very common to use in truck hoists year round.
