MF 180 shifting trouble...

Wondering if a few of you guys can advise. Looking at a 180-can't engage engine PTO, and when trying to engage ground PTO with clutch fully depressed, it grinds and won't engage. Also, can't shift 3 speed or HI - Low without fully depressing clutch to the fully depressed (to the floorboards) position. When releasing the clutch, the tractor started to drive as soon as I started to release from a depressed or disengaged position. And, backed the tractor up a gradual incline-when I stopped and tried to select a forward gear, it seemed there was still tension on the drive train...with the pedal fully depressed I had to tussle with the shift to make it shift.Now...to get things in order-does anyone know if this is a simple adjustment or possibly a pump problem. The seller told me the clutch had been recently replaced. Many thanks in advance!!

Shifting trans gear trouble may be just MP in high, move it to low will help trans shifting. If clutch has been replaced it sounds like it is not adjusted properly, the clamp to housing clearance, and the three PTO release bolts that can be accessed through the bottom plate. Worth a look to check all adjustments, if set right 180s shift well.

Thanks Dieseltech...My concern is whether it is a complex (expensive as well) or something very simple...Unfortunately, I don't know whether I was in the Hi or Low of the MP when I was trying...The machine is 3-1/2 hrs away too...Thanks again for your reply!
