MF 90 WR Brakes Locking in Reverse

Last week the right side rear wheel brake on my MF 90 WR Gas was sticking a bit, but only when I tried to back the tractor up. It was not an issue when I went forward. Today when I went out to move it to remove the front end loader, the right rear wheel will not release at all in reverse. It will still move forward. Any tricks to unlock this brake so that I can get the loader removed, and move the tractor into my shop so I can take off that wheel and repair whatever is wrong?

I suppose the planetary gears could be the issue. I'm trying to visualize how the wheel would rotate in the forward direction if these gears were all mangled to the point it was locked in reverse. Maybe I don't understand enough about how the planetary gears work.

i had a super 90 diesel w/ perkins. disconnect brake actuator rod so you have no brakes. if you still have problems it is probably internal. however i would also remove axle and inspect b4 tear down of other components.

Disconnecting brake actuator was looking like the thing I would try next, unless somebody else had experience with something they knew would be better.

Back off the adjusting nut and tap the rod in. The actuator unit inside may have one or all three return springs broken and rusty ramps and balls will cause trouble also.
