ok folks , you guys have helped me out before so here we go , I looked at a massey 1030 compact 4x4 tractor. when the owner purchased it the clutch was shot. He had the clutch refaced , the flywheel turned to clean it up, new throw out bearing, reused the pressure plate , he said the pressure plate is not available. this is a two stage clutch and he drove it into his shop on the revits to get it tore down. Now with parts replaced as mentioned above the tractor will not move.pto works but no tractor movment he has adjusted the bolts on the pressure plate in both directions and changed free play in the clutch pedal in both directions with no change still no movement. Anyone have specs as far as flywheel thickness or any ideas as to what could be going on with this thing. any ideas are welcome! Thanks guy"s

Hi,
Silly question perhaps but are you sure that the range gear lever is engaged?
Can the first and second stages be felt clearly when pressing the pedal either by foot or hand?
If so, I would suggest that you split the tractor again and look for whatever is causing the main drive plate to remain free.

Turn the input shaft into the gearbox by hand and in gear to ensure that you have drive to the wheels.

Let us know what you find.

Hello Dave -
Thanks for the reply. We had checked both the input shaft for brakeage and also the position of the high-low range to be sure it was in. I don't own the tractor it belongs to a elderly friend who bought it this way. What we have done is split the tractor , pulled the clutch assembly and flywheel and placed them on the bench. after inspecting the clutch assembly I seen it does not have pressure springs but a bellview washer for each component , tractor and PTO , so I put them under a pressure gauge and found one to be a lot weaker than the other. Took the whole assembly to a Massey dealer 30 miles away and they agreed with my findings on the pressure washer. We left the assembly there ,they are going to contact Massey so they can get the correct specs. Agco will not release that info to me as you must have a dealers code to identify who you are. It's all top secret I guess. I am in hope's we have it beat now all we are waiting on are the specs and a couple of new pressure washers.
Have a great weekend!!!!
