MF 40B Fuel Problem

Does anyone know if I remove the fuel line from the
supply side of the lift pump if there should be free
flowing fuel from that line to the tank? I am
having issues with it loosing it's prime, when this
happens the only way I can seem to get it primed is
to remove the line, then blow into the tank until I
get fuel dripping, only then can I pump the manual
lever and get the injector pump primed. Is there
any way to clear this without taking off the hood
and tank??

The tank sits over the engine, so it's gravity feed to the supply pump, if it's the same as our 30B. So yes, it should flow freely to the supply pump from the tank. Guess you some crud in the line, or the shut-off at the tank.

Once I cleared the blockage in the line, found it had a hole worn thru it, also once I removed the line to fix the hole, found the line had braze on it in two different places, why in the heck would someone braze a fuel line rather than replace it???? Anyways, now I finally think i have the fuel problem fixed.
