Everything worked great and I let a friend use it and it was returned and nothing worked as for as hyd. is concern. Can anyone give me advice? All levers are in correct position. It was low on fluid
and I told him it needed fluid. It was full when returned. Can anyone help?

I don't loan out my tractors or my wife. I've found that most borrowers don't give a s--t about what they borrow. IMHO

2 stage clutch?

Does your PTO work?

My first thought is the PTO clutch is toast, therefore not turning hyd pump.

Dear 495man.
PTO still works great. Disconnected several steel lines and no fluid
is present when engaging levers. All help is appreciated. Thanks Chuck

Does it just have a single hydraulic pump, or the 'piggy back' aux. pump as well? What did the 'friend' use it for? Does the 3 point arms just go all the way down and stay down? Has the hydraulic strainer in the bottom of the hyd. sump ever been changed?
My 253 needs the strainer changed right now. It has about 1,500 hours on it, and a light is coming illuminating on the inst. panel showing, I think, low hyd. pressure.

neighbors 175 done the same thing and the steel line that connects the aux.pump to the housing fitting had worked loose and one end came off pumping the fluid back into the case
