MF 290 Fuel Bleeding Issue

Hello gentlemen I hope all is well. Today I changed the fuel filter on my 290 and as expected I had air in the system. So I bled the system starting with the filter vent, then the injector pump, and unfortunately no luck, the engine will not start. I then went to the injectors themselves, had an assistant turn the engine over while I loosened the nut, saw fuel come out, but still no success in starting the engine. What am I doing wrong and/or what else can I do at this point?

Well Brendon on several tries the motor runs for about five seconds then shuts off. So not sure if tow starting will help in this case.

Keep bleeding and checking for loose connections. The new filter is sealed up properly, right?

Everything is tight without leaks it seems. I tried again this morning and no luck. I got it to start once but it ran for about five to ten seconds then shut down. What am I missing!?!??!

Are you getting a really good stream of fuel out of
the bleeders on the injector pump? If not, could
it be your strainer on the fuel tank is blocked? I
had a similar issue with my MF 40B, I took my air
tank and blew from the line from the pump back into
the tank, it seems to have solved my problem,
temporarily at least. Going to pull the tank after
the hay is done and completely flush it out.

Are you using Wix or NAPA fuel filter by chance? Hope you didn't make the mistake of placing on O ring in the top outer filter inlet groove, that will cause the problem you have too. Made several service calls for that trouble.

Well guys my attempts seem to be without success. Still looking for more input. On the injection pump the bottom bleed screw has a weak flow while the top is strong. Any input on this fact?
