I recently purchased a MF35 and the serial number is SNW231852. From some of the data I have located, this serial number denotes S=normal width chassis, N=Diesel Perkins A3.152 and W=Multi Power. The number it self represents a 1961 model. I have seen other listings that would indicate a 1963. How does one make sure?
The real clincher is what I believe to be the engine serial number found on the left side of the engine. Perkins specifies it to be on the right side (looking at the flywheel) for a 3.152 series, and it isn't there. The number is CL 192 O (or 0) 328 C. The only thing I have been reasonably able to ascertain is that the "CL" indicates cast liners making the overall tractor the possibility of being a 35X ?? The tractor is equipped with lights, multi power, two stage clutch, tachometer and a 6-speed transmission.
We are preparing for a down-to-the-metal restoration on this tractor and honestly, I am so confused at this point I had no other idea about what to do besides ask for help. I will appreciate any assistance solving this tractor mystery.
Thanks, Todd
