MF 165 Industrial ?

Hi All,
I just bought an MF loader,possibly a 165,with a 4-203 diesel engine.
It has no PTO & linkage, just a well fitted loader frame.
It has a 3 Speed gearbox with 3 range set up.
Would this be a 165? Did MF make Industrial versions of ag tractors.I've heard of 165 with Multipower trans & PTO/Linkage,but never a straight loader outfit like mine.

Or would it be a 40 or 50 Industrial?

The ID plate is not too clear... #810088.

I'd like to identify,so I can buy a shop book. Thanks for your thoughts.

Jim

Everything was an option,PTO,three point, power steering.
We converted a non three point hitch 165-I to a three point with a top cover change.

By your description & serial number you may have an early MF 50A tractor/loader.
Attached is a pic of an MF 50B backhoe/loader (with a 212 engine), I had here a few years back.

Can you post a few pics?

What model loader? Could be an MF30 with a 32 or 34
loader or a 3165 with a 100 or 200 loader. I think
there's a couple other possibilities too like like a
302.

Thanks guys,

Note the hydraulic tank, etc,on the loader frame.
Also the wheel weights.

I'm more familiar with the 2244 & 200 & 300 crawlers.Never had a lot to do with MF tractors.
I remember seeing quite a few MF50 Backhoes around in the 70s/80s.
I think the MF 40s had a reverser pedal ,didn't they?
There are still quite a few MF22 Loaders on farms here.

This old girl need a new clutch,so I want to start the split as soon as I can identify her.
She will end up with a set of forks & a lifting jib out front.

Hi Jim,
Take a look around the top instrument panel or the lower dash apron for an aluminium tag riveted to it.
Once located, there should be a serial number stamped into it towards the bottom of the tag.
Let us know what you come up with, Evan.

Hi Evan,
That number I previously quoted was the only info I could get off 2 very faded ID plates.
The Loader frame & gearbox have OEM numbers embossed,so I might see if they help.
It was sold to me as a 165,but who knows...??

Please PM me..I couldn't PM you.

Thanks,
Jim
