Hi - I have a 1956 Massey F40 with the power steering option. My pump works great but the control valve and main cylinder leak badly. I bought the rebuild kit for these and am working on rebuilding to fix the leaks. My question is about replacing this part. It seems that the cylinder assembly is part# 183074M91(Bruning), and the control valve is part#183073M91(Saginaw). I know there is a replacement for this for the '57 model which is part# 184871M92(Benton) and has the control valve and cylinder assembly all in one. So, is the Benton a direct replacement for the Bruning+Saginaw assemblies? They look like a direct fit looking at the agco parts books.
Also, does anyone know of a proper power steering upgrade for this (i.e. not power-assisted, but full power-steering). The adjustment on the power assist is VERY touchy. Just curious if there's better options out there.
Thanks a million!
Alan
