Picked up a subcompact Massey. GC1705

It's a model 1705 Massey Ferguson, with a Model DL95 loader and 6 ft. mower. I only have about 8 hours on it so far, but I really like it. THe three cyl. diesel sips fuel and the hydrostatic is very smooth and responsive.

I just got the loader mounted today. I hope to try it out this weekend for some yard cleanup chores.

I have both a GC2610 w loader, mower, and backhoe and also have a GC2300 with mower. I love both them.....like u said the are easy on fuel, powerful and very quiet for a compact diesel.
The hydraulics on the GC2610 are unbelievable. I've done stuff with the loader and backhoe attachments that you would only think a bigger machine was capable of! I believe lots of people under estimate what they little tractors can do!

MF rules, that would make a nice pair of yardwork tractors. I am impressed with the little loader and bucket. It is very sturdy and more powerful than I thought it would be. I am quite happy with it. Oh and the mower cuts great! :D

I'm glad to hear your happy with your purchase! I've got 130hrs on my GC2610 and 450 hrs on my GC2300. I've had absolutely no trouble with either of them.
Yes, the mower decks work great.....never scalp the ground and cut beautifully! I'd buy another GC in a heartbeat! One of my best purchases through the years!
Good luck and enjoy!

First post in this forum for me, but I am a member of another forum. We were just discussing the differences between the DL95 loader and the previous model, the DL100. There isn't much published information about the DL95 on Massey's website yet, and I was wondering if you could tell us what the published specs are in your user manual? I believe they claim 870 lbs max lift capacity to full height at the pivot pins, but what about at the bucket edge? What is the lift capacity at the standard 59" lift height? What is the break out force? Etc.

I also question if they have beefed up the front axle to handle the high load. I have a 2012 GC2400 with DL100 loader, and I believe with a full bucket, I am already at or over the load capacity of the front axle. If the new loader has greater capacity, did they do anything to the axle to compensate.

Any info you could share would be greatly appreciated. I hope you're still enjoying your machine!

Here are a few specs from my manuals.

Lifting height at Pivot = 73"
Lifting Height under level bucket = 65"

Max. Load at Max height = 870 lbs
Max. Load at bucket edge (20" from pin) 580 lbs
Max. lift at pin at 1 meter = 1050 lbs
Max load at 1.0 meter (20" from pin) = 760 lbs
Max lift at ground level = 1400 lbs
Max lift at ground level (20" from pin) = 920 lbs
Front axle capacity = 1940 lbs
Rear axle capacity = 2094 lbs

Does that help? I could not be happier with the performance of this little tractor. It is such a time and back saver.

Thanks for the information! Pretty impressive lift numbers with the new loader. To give you an idea, I have the DL100 on my GC2400, the max lift at max height is listed at 678lbs. So the DL95 is some 30% more capable.

The only downside is that it appears they haven't upgraded the front axle. Ballasting will be really important if doing any heavy lifting.

Do you have a mid mount mower as well? If so, is it the drive over model? It wasn't an option when I bought, but I would really like it! Considering trading my machine in so I can get the new deck and loader, but am afraid I'll get taken to the cleaners on the trade price!

Yes, I have the mid mount mower deck. It is shaft drive from the forward PTO. It slides out the side by pivoting the rollers. On the concrete floor it rolls out with one hand.
Yes, they loader will easily lift they rear wheels off the ground.

I have the 60" (model 2325) MMM, likely same as you. It's not terrible to take on and off, but made harder by the fact that the rear wheels don't rotate. I take it on and off quite often for a variety of chores, and am getting tired of it after a couple years. I am trying to decide if it's worth the financial hit if I were to trade in my GC2400 with DL100 loader and 2325 MMM for a GC1705 with DL95 loader and 2326 driver over MMM.

The mower decks should be compatible, so it's possible that I can just trade in the deck by itself.

Are you running any ballast on the rear end? I have a ballast box that I keep between 300 and 500 lbs depending on what I am doing. Moving mulch or snow, I keep it lighter, moving dirt or logs I keep it heavier. Lifting the rear end off the ground is very dangerous, because it means the entire load on the tractor is on the front axle, and they are very expensive to fix!
