Need vertical exhaust elbow for MF165 gas

I borrowed this picture from a prior post from Tony in Mass.

My exhaust elbow looked like this 20 years ago when I bought the tractor. It has since been welded two more times and today it broke into an impressive number of pieces. It cannot be salvaged.

Converting to downswept exhaust is not an option for me. A buddy has a 135 with the downswept exhaust. I am not a fan.

This piece is no longer available from AGCO (as you know). So I may have to fabricate a header style elbow.

If any of you have an elbow you are willing to sell and ship, please let me know. I am in the middle of a job at a neighbor’s property. I have lots of grading left to do with the box blade.

While we are on the subject. If I did fabricate one, it would be a full blown professional fabrication. Laser cut plate, repeatable dimensions, etc. Would any of you also be in need of one?

Yep, I can recognize rustoleum blue from a mile away.
Did you check the YT parts store in the left column? I think the one you need is 33 bucks? Check the engine cubic inches first. The one in this picture is a UK made A 212 gasoline Perkins.

Hi Tony,

I looked in every parts store I could find for the last two days. No one stocks the elbow I need. The one I need (the one in the picture) is flatter and very tall - designed for use with a loader.

I have the 212 Perkins engine and I have learned that even though this tractor runs great, and has a ton of power, it is a rare bird.

My tractor is also an "orchard" edition and an ex-DOT highway mower. Bought in 1994 fresh after retirement and a light restoration.

I drop the tractor off at the fabrication shop tomorrow. A custom fab exhaust elbow should be done by Friday.

The on line store on this site? on the top of the left column? It has the elbow for 212 gas. They don't have one in stock? Or you outside of the US? I'm certain Sparex would carry this around the world. A weld shop will charge you heaps....

Mine is blue and yellow, not to drive MF people nuts, but because it is ex NY thruway mower, so maybe the same batch as yours. You see where someone welded an extension onto the part with 3 bolts, I suppose the state did that to all of them, I would buy one from here, THEN bring it all to a shop to make it the way you'd like to see it. As long as he don't take ya to the cleaners fabbing a whole new one.

That is not an extension - that is a factory part 708 521 M1. It is the exhaust elbow used when the tractor was fitted with a loader.

They all cracked like that, and are welded. You won't see that elbow without a weld unless it is NOS - which I don't think exists anymore.

The weld will continue to propogate into the bolt holes, then around to the flange face. I will upload pictures next.

The elbow that is available sticks out way too far - like 2" more. It is a casting of unknown content - so welding to it is questionable versus starting with plate steel and sch 40 fittings. It would need extensive modification right off the batt. I bought one of those elbows ten years ago and ruled out modifying it. That is when I had a carbon steel flange cut.
