MF 202 Workbull Loader / Backhoe **Update**

Hey folks. Got the 202 home yesterday, checked the data plates, and it is a 1965 with a MF 200 FEL.
Question is, can"t find a data plate for the backhoe, so I"ll try and post a couple of pics in hopes that you 202 folks out there can identify it for me. The machine is in good shape, but dirty. All the sheet metal is solid.

Thanks for any and all help.

I"ve got a 202 with a loader [needs repair] but no backhoe. I"d like to know what model backhoe fits it. It might make a good piece of equipment someday.

Hey Mike,
After a little research, I believe the model on mine is a MF220. Appears there are a couple that fit the 202.

After some diagnosis on the engine noise, I dropped the pan yesterday, found #1 rod bearing spun. Don"t know if I can clean up the crank journal and rod enough to run it, without pulling the loader, which appears to be a PIA, splitting the tractor and replacing the crank...

Any suggestions???

Yes, that does look to be a 220 backhoe. I have the same one on my 202 and it's surprising what you can do with it.
I can't comment on the crank bearings as I've been lucky with both of my Z134 engines. I would imagine you would have to take the loader off in order to get it apart. A repair like that I'd be splitting it and making sure it's done right.
The backhoe is designed to come off pretty easily. There are 4 pins and two quick disconnect hydraulic lines. You do have to have it running and use the hydraulics to put it in the proper position to stabilize it and get the pins out. It can be done in 10 minutes or less once you are used to it.
The loader would be easier to remove if you had another machine with a loader to help lift it. I have not taken mine off so again, I can't comment on that. The loader will likely be a Davis 99, 101 or 102.

Hey Inno,
Actually the loader is a MF200 according to the data plate.
I looked it all over this morning, and I agree the hoe doesn"t look that difficult, loader on the other hand will require some work, but doable. Hopefully the manuals will be here next week and I can see what"s involved.
Been pricing, and looks like I"m gonna do complete overhaul, for another $125.00 I can rebuild the entire engine with everything...
Will post back with results.

Thanks,
Roger

do it and do it right .
just pull the pins on the loader arms and 3 hoses , let the frame stay on the tractor .
if it goes good motor out in less than 3 hours .

Yes, a 200 loader would be another option. Forgot about that.

To Many Irons, good to see you, how have things been?

Thanks To Many Irons, hadn"t thought about leaving the frame for the loader attached. Will have to look at that option. The less I have to take off, the quicker things will go. No concrete floor, or shop big enough to get the tractor into, so it"ll be done outside, under a small shelter, on plywood. Gonna pick up an engine stand and use the 8N with the lift boom to get the block to the shop door and onto the stand. The rebuild will be done inside..

Thanks,
Roger
